you shouldn't do that, sister!
As i am writing this entry, i am still shocked on what i have seen just now. May be I shouldn't be to fussy on other people's lives. But it was quite outrageous to be honest.
I was in the supermarket buying what bachelors supposed to buy (i think!) - frozen dinner to be microwaved - and as I was waiting on my queue, there were this family of four, husband, wife and their two children, boy and girl came into view. All were wrapped in a very conservative Islamic wearing code. The male were wearing kurta and white cap. The females full black jubbah with a complete face-covering scarf.
I have no issue on that. In fact, I felt quite embarrassed (for myself!) seeing them wearing proper Islamic attire and myself only wearing jeans and T-Shirt. I applaud them for their faith and bravery.
But then, the wife was shouting angrily at their son for some reasons i could not fathom. Then she was smacking the little boy with the attitude that could match gorilla in distress. The little boy was crying but the mother didn't stop the attack. Oh, and the words were PG13, which was incredible coming out from such people who looks decent enough to kill a fly. And the husband was just looking and them with a blank face. Totally oblivious. Probably he wasn't there nor here, but I don't know where...
How could they do that to their children like that? and in public? that was so sickening. They supposed to give example to others (like their attire suggested), but what they did was simply unacceptable.
I will not impart any judgment on them, but I just wish they wouldn't do that. It is not Islamic, and it is not in any circumstances represent how Muslims treat their young ones.
I left the supermarket with sore eyes and sore heart....
